About Us
Welcome to World Gardens at Midtown Miami, the world’s preeminent collection of garden experiences around the globe ,with extensive collections of rare tropical plants including palms, cycads, flowering trees, tropical fruit trees, vines, and succulents.
Bringing nature’s beauty into the new urban epicenter of Miami, the Gardens, designed by Harry Nelson of Harry Nelson Fine Gardens, will make its official debut in December during Art Midtown and Art Basel Miami Beach.
Nelson’s vision calls for pioneering the exhibition gardens and interactive venue with total of nine intertwined gardens on more than 2.5 acres, the approximate size of a football field, located on the 36th Street entry of Midtown Miami’s Art Park. The Gardens will be completed in multiple phases over the course of 14 months. Through a philanthropic effort, funds to support the Gardens were donated by generous patrons interested in the design, garden and art worlds to provide a public garden for all people. The 2.5 acre garden is expected to become one of the region’s most popular visitor attractions and offering a variety of programs in environmental/art education, conservation and horticulture.
Inspired by authenticity and global culture, Nelson will integrate the most exquisite world-renowned garden styles from Chateau de Versailles in France, Gardens of The Alhambra in Spain, formal fashions of England, harmonious influences of Japan, Balinese and South African touches, and a hint of tropical, Brazilian flair. All elements will be blended with contemporary sculptures and traditional ponds surrounding the foliage.
